John F. Kennedy School Wins Bag It Up for Goodwill Donation Challenge

Bridgeport, CT – Today, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut announced that John F. Kennedy School in Milford are the 2018 Grand Prize Winners of the Bag It Up for Goodwill challenge. 365 Elementary schools from across Connecticut competed by collecting donations for Goodwill throughout the month of April. John F. Kennedy School collected 58,940 items that Goodwill will transform into revenue to help Connecticut residents find work and achieve independence.

“Congratulations to John F. Kennedy Elementary School students, families and friends for winning our ‘Bag It Up’ challenge,” said Vickie L. Volpano, President & CEO, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut. “You proved that by getting involved in the community we all win. The best part is that your donations will help your Connecticut neighbors with disadvantages and disabilities find and keep jobs. And you have made a significant impact on making our planet safer and greener by keeping items out of landfills. You should be very proud of your efforts.”

As the winners of the Bag It Up challenge, John F. Kennedy School will receive a private performance from Andy Grammer, $1,000 donation to support educational or athletic programs, and NoRA’s cupcakes for the entire school.
