‘American Idol’ Winner Performs At Naugatuck’s Hop Brook Elementary

A Guilford native, Nick Fradiani gave the performance to celebrate the winning school in the 'Bag It Up for Goodwill' challenge.

From Quinn and Hary Marketing: ‘American Idol’ winner Guilford native, Nick Fradiani, gave a private performance for the students of Hop Brook Elementary School in Naugatuck on Monday, June 12th to celebrate the school’s winning achievement in this year’s annual “Bag It Up For Goodwill Donation Challenge.” The students also received $1,000 in American Express gift cards and a delicious selection of cupcakes from Middletown’s NoRA Cupcakes.

The Bag it Up for Goodwill Challenge ran throughout the month of April, and encouraged local students to donate items to Goodwill. The donations support Goodwill’s mission to help people achieve independence and self-sufficiency through job training and other support services. Throughout the drive, there was a total of 190,293 donations collected from 327 schools. Hop Brook Elementary donated the top number with 35,060 items.

Milford’s Live Oaks Elementary collected 28,918, and Enfield’s Edgar H. Parkman Elementary collected 8,607 items. Live Oaks and Edgar H. Parkman will receive $500 and $250 respectively.
