FAIRFIELD, CT (September 21, 2017) – Goodwill of Western & Northern Connecticut announced it will open a new store tomorrow at 500 Kings Highway in Fairfield.
The new Goodwill Fairfield store will employ 30 people, and the store is still hiring. Interested applicants should visit http://www.gwct.org to apply.
"We are thrilled to expand our presence in Fairfield," said Vickie Volpano, President, Goodwill of Western & Northern Connecticut. "When Goodwill builds a new location, we also help build the community. Our goal is to contribute to the success of the local community by offering residents great employment opportunities, job training, and connections to employment."
The new Goodwill Fairfield donation station is still under construction, so customers will be asked to bring their donations into the store. Once complete, donors will be able to easily and quickly drop off their items at the drive-thru donation station. A Grand Opening Ceremony will be announced when construction is complete.
Goodwill of Western & Northern Connecticut is a non-profit organization that strengthens communities by helping people with disabilities, and other disadvantages maximize independence through job training and other support services. The company uses the revenue from store sales to help fund job training programs and community-based services.
When customers shop at Goodwill, they are not the only one who gets a great deal. Last year, sales from Goodwill stores in western and northern Connecticut helped to fund employment training, job placement services, youth mentoring, and more to more than 25,000 people.
