Goodwill to Open an Attended Donation Station at the Trumbull Transfer Station

Thursday, July 26, 2012

For the convenience of local donors, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut will open a new attended donation station in Trumbull at the Transfer Station on 101 Spring Hill Road beginning August 3, 2012. The new station will be open Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. A  Goodwill staff member will help donors unload gently used clothing and household items and give them a tax receipt.

Goodwill is a non-profit organization that provides employment and support services to the local community.  Donations support Goodwill stores. In addition to providing low cost merchandise to people on a tight budget and to those just looking for bargains, these stores provide employment opportunities to people with disabilities and other special needs by hiring and training them to process donations and to work on the sales floor. Revenue generated from the sale of donations goes right back into programs in the local community to help people find jobs and reclaim their independence.
